Begin your adventure in the vibrant capital city of Phnom Penh, where bustling markets, historic sites, and the mighty Mekong River set the stage. Departing from Phnom Penh, you’ll head northeast towards Kampong Cham, a charming riverside town. The ride offers a mix of paved roads and dirt tracks, passing through picturesque countryside landscapes and traditional villages. In Kampong Cham, explore the iconic bamboo bridge (seasonal), the French colonial architecture, and the serene Wat Nokor temple.
Along the way, we’ll encounter numerous family-sized businesses, including kantel – the old-fashioned but essential mat weave made from river reeds. We’ll also cross the river using a wooden ferry that locals use for their daily commute.
Upon arrival in Kampong Cham, we’ll check into our hotel and relax in this charming colonial town.

Hanchey Bamboo Resort
This mornig, we continue riding along the Mekong river and make a stop at the 1500 years old holy site of the pre-Angkorian Khmer – Wat Hanchey that was built in 6th century AD. We get to the hilltop and enjoy the breathtaking view of the Mekong and the surrounding landscape.
Continue riding along the Mekong toward Kratie where we pass by lots of plantations including rubber, cassava and other seasonal plantations.
Upon arrival in Kratie, board a local boat from the waterfront to Koh Trong for your hotel. Approximately 280 families call this 6 km island home. The island is famous for growing pomelos, some of the best citrus fruit in Cambodia, as well as rice and other agricultural products. Your evening will offer a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in everyday Cambodian life, and this evening you’ll enjoy a traditional Khmer dinner. With hammocks strung up beneath the house, this is a great place to unwind.

Koh Trong Homestay
Today, we set out to observe the rare Irrawaddy dolphins in the Mekong River. You’ll cruise down the river on a guided private boat ride to watch the animals play in their natural habitat.
After departing the charming town of Kratie, we will embark on a thrilling off-road journey towards the northwest, traversing through captivating landscapes of mud and sand.
The terrain includes a mix of dirt roads and small trails, winding through dense forests and remote villages. Upon reaching Stung Treng, enjoy the peaceful ambiance of this riverside town and explore the local markets and scenic river views.

Today, the journey from Stung Treng to Koh Ker is one of the most challenging and rewarding segments of the tour. You’ll navigate through rugged trails, remote jungles, and rural landscapes, making this a perfect day for off-road enthusiasts. Koh Ker, an ancient Angkorian city, awaits with its impressive temples and historical ruins. Explore the pyramid-shaped Prasat Thom and other hidden gems in this lesser-visited archaeological site.
After exploring Koh Ker, we will ride to our homestay and spend an evening with the village community, enjoying local dinner and drinks.

Koh Ker Homestay
Today we’ll enjoy an awesome single track leading into Siem Reap, home of the Angkor temples. First, we’ll ride toward Kulen National Park, one of Cambodia’s most sacred mountains, with deeply revered ancient sites and ruins on its high plateau. The roads are peaceful, off-road, and very scenic all the way to Kulen Mountain.
We’ll then venture into jungle trails through vine-covered trees until we reach the River of 1000 Lingas, an array of unique riverbed carvings. Nearby, we’ll visit Preah Ang Thom, a huge stone Buddha carved into the top of a rock set in a bustling yet atmospheric temple complex. We’ll have lunch at a local restaurant and cool down from the day’s adventure with a swim at Kulen Waterfall.
Afterward, we’ll continue our ride to Siem Reap town and check into our accommodation.

Today, we hop off our dirt bikes and experienced the Angkor temples with a vintage Jeep tour of Angkor Archaeological Park. We explored the ancient secrets of the Angkor temples on a spiritual adventure, visiting the most iconic temples, including Angkor Wat, Angkor Thom, Bayon, and Ta Prohm temple, as well as some lesser-known sites.
We stepped back in time as we weaved our way through jungle-clad ruins, treading in the footsteps of Hindu holy men, Buddhist rulers, and warrior kings of days gone by. Getting off the beaten path, we unlocked the hidden mysteries of this sacred city by traveling in our vintage Jeep.
Afterward, we will return to Siem Reap town for you to enjoy your evening out.

Today is the final day on dirt bikes. We will explore the Tonle Sap trails and floating villages of Mechrey. This ride is a mix of paved roads and dirt tracks, taking you through scenic countryside and along waterways. Upon reaching Mechrey, we take a boat to explore the unique lifestyle of the floating village communities. Explore the stilted houses, floating markets, and local temples, all set against the backdrop of Southeast Asia’s largest freshwater lake.
Afterwards, we’ll have lunch and taste various local flavors. We’ll enjoy local drinks and lounge in hammocks. After lunch, we’ll continue our ride toward Siem Reap town and say goodbye to our tour guide. Perhaps we’ll have a farewell dinner together on your last day.

A valid passport with at least six months’ validity from the date of entry is required. Most nationalities can obtain a 30-day visa on arrival, which costs around $30. An e-visa is also available online and should be applied for before departure. Visa extensions can be arranged within the country if needed.
The Cambodian Riel (KHR) is the official currency, but US dollars are widely accepted. ATMs are available in cities and tourist areas, dispensing both currencies. It’s practical to carry small denominations for rural areas.
Local SIM cards are readily available in most cities in Cambodia. You can purchase SIM cards from providers such as Metfone, Smart, and Cellcard at airports, convenience stores, or telecom shops. Make sure your phone is unlocked and compatible with local networks.
Cambodian cuisine features rice, noodles, and fresh vegetables, often seasoned with herbs and spices. Street food is popular, but always choose vendors with high hygiene standards. Vegetarians and those with dietary restrictions will find a variety of options, though it’s wise to communicate specific needs clearly.
Cambodia has a tropical climate with two main seasons: wet and dry. The wet season runs from May to October, characterized by heavy rain and high humidity. The dry season, from November to April, is marked by little rainfall and higher temperatures, with the coolest months being December and January. Ideal travel months are November to February, when temperatures are more moderate.
Cambodia’s terrain can be challenging, featuring a mix of paved roads, dirt tracks, and jungle paths. Prior off-road riding experience is highly recommended. New riders should start with shorter, guided tours to build confidence and skill.
A knowledgeable group leader enhances the experience by ensuring safety, providing local insights, and managing logistics. Our guides are well-trained with extensive local experience and good communication skills.
On most of our dirt bike trips, we offer non-riding options for riders who want to take the afternoon off, or for travel companions who prefer to spend little or no time on the dirt bike.
